Connect Jobyo to Claude
The Claude connector lets Claude, Anthropic's AI assistant, work with your company's Jobyo data. You ask questions in plain language and Claude answers from your real records: projects, work orders, tasks, purchase orders and more. An admin turns it on for the company, then each person connects their own Claude account.
What Claude can and can't do
- Claude works as you. It sees only what your own Jobyo role lets you see. If your role can't open a module in the app, Claude can't see it either.
- Cost and margin follow your role. Claude only sees cost figures if your role includes the cost-view permission.
- Each kind of change needs your approval when you connect. Depending on what your company has enabled and what your role allows, Claude can also create and change records in Jobyo. Each kind of change is listed on the approval screen when you connect, and Claude can only make the kinds of change you approved there.
- Only quotations are always drafts. A quotation Claude creates is saved as a draft. Claude can't send or accept a quotation. A person reviews it and sends it from Jobyo.
- Some changes are live at once. Posting a purchase invoice's cost to jobs books real cost. A purchase invoice Claude creates starts in draft, but a credit or linked line on it can already book a cost reversal. Project setup records (customers, worksites, phases, tasks, planned cost) are real records. Site locations and equipment can be imported, changed and deleted (deletes are guarded; deleted equipment can be recovered). Site-plan review changes only a draft plan. Review what Claude proposes before you confirm.
- No sending. Claude can't send anything to a customer, accept a quotation or issue a sale invoice.
Turn on AI data access (admin)
Open the Integrations settings
In Company Settings, select Integrations, then Edit. You need the Owner or Administrator role.
Allow AI assistant data access
Switch on Allow AI assistant data access. Read the consent dialog and the full disclosure at jobyo.io/legal/ai-data-sharing, choose your Claude plan type, and select I agree.
Save
Select Save on the Integrations card. The card shows when consent was recorded and by whom.
Connect your Claude account
Each person who wants to use the connector connects with their own Jobyo account. Once your company's data access is on, there's no allow-list to manage — any active user at your company can connect, and each person's own Jobyo role limits what Claude can see and do for them.
Add the connector in Claude
In Claude, add a new connector and enter
https://api.jobyo.app/mcp.Sign in to Jobyo
Claude opens a Jobyo sign-in page. Sign in with the same method you use for Jobyo.
Review and approve
The approval screen lists what you're granting. Select Approve. You can now ask Claude about your Jobyo data.
The connector works with the company your Jobyo account is signed into when you connect. To use it with another company, switch company in Jobyo, then disconnect and reconnect the connector in Claude.
If the disclosure is updated
If Jobyo's AI data-sharing disclosure changes, the Integrations card shows a notice telling an Owner or Administrator to review and re-accept it. Existing Claude connections keep working while the notice is up — but Claude can't use the kinds of data added in the update until someone re-accepts.
Review what changed
Select View full disclosure on the notice to read the updated terms at jobyo.io/legal/ai-data-sharing.
Re-accept
Select Edit on the Integrations card, leave Allow AI assistant data access switched on, and select Save. The consent dialog reopens — confirm your Claude plan type and select I agree.
Turn it off
- Your own connection: remove or disconnect the Jobyo connector in Claude's settings.
- The whole company (Owner or Administrator): go to Company Settings > Integrations, select Edit, switch off Allow AI assistant data access, and save. Every connection at your company stops working right away.
- One specific person's connection, while keeping it on for everyone else: contact Jobyo support.
If it doesn't work
- Sign-in ends on an error pageAI data access may be off for your company. Ask an Owner or Administrator to check Company Settings > Integrations.
- Claude says it can't find records you expectClaude sees only what your Jobyo role can see. Check that you can open those records in the app, and that you connected with the right Jobyo account.
- No Integrations category in Company SettingsOnly the Owner and Administrator roles see it. Ask your administrator.
- Integrations card shows a disclosure-update noticeClaude keeps working, but can't use the newly added data types yet. An Owner or Administrator needs to re-accept — see If the disclosure is updated above.
